Breaking Boundaries is the theme of the 2016 AMOSSHE national conference, which takes place from 6 to 8 July in Glasgow, Scotland.

The AMOSSHE national conference is the largest annual gathering of Student Services leaders in the UK higher education sector, and the keystone of AMOSSHE’s continuing professional development offering.

This year, Breaking Boundaries aims to inspire Student Services leaders to reach beyond the boundaries: explore new approaches, develop current success, consider international perspectives, and discover new potential as we work to break down barriers and develop student success without boundaries.

Baroness Lawrence

We’re delighted to announce that Doreen Lawrence, Baroness Lawrence of Clarendon, OBE, will be our opening keynote speaker. Baroness Lawrence is a tireless campaigner for breaking down the barriers of prejudice and inequality. In 2014 she was named the UK’s leading “game changer” by Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour. Her professional background in Student Services informs her understanding of and commitment to supporting student success.

We’re excited that Baroness Lawrence will start us on our boundary breaking way at the conference.

These include tackling sexual harassment and violence, learning from international Student Services good practice, developing student resilience and wellbeing, strategies for supporting disabled students, student engagement, and much, much more.

We’ll also be announcing two more keynote speakers over the coming months, as well as more details about the engaging networking opportunities we’re lining up for delegates. We’ll be making the most of our city centre location in the beautiful and vibrant city of Glasgow.
