Day two of ALL CHANGE, the 2015 AMOSSHE conference, is in full swing! After last night’s relaxing Summer Party at the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, everyone was inspired this morning by our keynote speaker Phyll Opoku-Gyimah.
Phyll spoke about the intersections of race, gender, sexual orientation and everything else that make people unique – and how important it is to think about these intersections in every individual. She praised the work of Student Services and described the support and encouragement her daughter received at university.
Following this we’ve taken part in a series of workshops on topical subjects, including civic responsibility, mature students’ transition into higher education, mental health and wellbeing services, and sexual harassment and violence.
It’s a packed schedule so there’s loads to do – and more to come this afternoon!
